A Celebration of Creativity, Connection, and Symmetry

On November 22nd and 29th, ANFS Studio hosted The Great Partner Paint-Off — a unique workshop designed to bring couples together through the joy of collaborative art. The theme was as timeless as it was challenging: a dual-canvas Taj Mahal, chosen for its perfect symmetry and iconic beauty.

Setting the Stage

Each couple began with their own canvas, exploring colors and strokes independently. But soon, the energy shifted — participants wanted to connect their canvases and paint as one. Thanks to the studio’s H-shaped easels, this became possible, transforming the experience into a true partnership.

The Journey of Creation

  • November 22nd: The group spent nearly four hours painting the backdrop. Everyone was deeply invested in making their masterpiece perfect, so we embraced the slower pace and let creativity unfold naturally.

  • November 29th: Couples returned to paint the Taj Mahal itself. While Deepali and Shailesh continued their work at the home studio due to travel plans, Maju-Rahul and Prajakta-Bhushan joined in person. Their intricate brushwork, blending shadows and highlights on small surfaces, was nothing short of professional.

Masterpieces Completed

By the end of the second session, Deepali-Shailesh, Manju-Rahul and Prajakta-Bhushan had finished their Taj Mahals — stunning works of art that reflected not only skill but also the harmony of working together. On December 6th, Hema and Rajendra will complete their masterpiece, marking the official close of this joyful workshop.

More Than Just Art

The studio was alive with laughter, excitement, and harmony. Participants described the workshop as a retreat — a rare chance to work on a joint project with their partners for long hours across two weekends. They left feeling a deeper connection, grateful for the opportunity to share this creative journey.

Reflections

The Great Partner Paint-Off was more than a painting session. It was about:

  • Collaboration: Couples switching places, painting synchronously, or choosing their own rhythm.

  • Connection: Discovering new ways to work together and appreciate each other’s creativity.

  • Celebration: Turning two canvases into one masterpiece, just like the Taj Mahal itself.

✨ At ANFS Studio, we believe art is not just about the final product — it’s about the memories, bonds, and joy created along the way. This workshop was a shining example of that philosophy.

Heartfelt Thanks

A huge thank you to all the wonderful participants who made The Great Partner Paint-Off such a memorable experience — Majnu & Rahul, Prajakta & Bhushan, Deepali & Shailesh, and Hema & Rajendra. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to dive into this unique journey brought so much joy to the studio. A special note of gratitude goes to my husband, Shantanu, whose support and volunteering behind the scenes ensured everything ran smoothly. Together, you all filled ANFS Studio with laughter, harmony, and the true spirit of collaboration.

Dear ANFS Family,

What a magical start to our journey in the new studio! This week was filled with vibrant colors, heartfelt creativity, and joyful milestones. Here's a peek into the highlights:

🌟 Tuesday: Mandala Magic with Ira, Ira, Abhira & Sara

Our first kids’ class in the studio was a burst of energy and imagination! We explored mandala art through concentric circles, diagonals, and intricate patterns. As we worked outward from the center, it felt like we were building a castle of creativity. The girls were determined to finish their pieces in one go—and they did! Four stunning mandalas, each radiating pride and personality.

🎶 A moment to cherish: Midway through class, the girls spontaneously broke into their Stocklmeir Elementary School song—singing in chorus, full of pride. It was pure joy to witness! Watch this video 😊❤️

🎶 Wednesday: Madhubani Moments with Abir

When I asked Abir if he’d like to try Madhubani—a detailed form of mandala art—he said yes with such enthusiasm! With Indian classical music playing softly in the background, Abir immersed himself in pattern-making and color blending. We completed half the artwork and will finish it this week. It’s already looking spectacular. Great job, Abir!

🌷 Friday: Tulips & Tunes

a) Adults Class with Divya & Trupti

We began our oil painting journey! After mastering acrylics, Divya and Trupti embraced the magic of oil blending. Using oval canvases, we painted tulips—no pencil sketching, just brush-to-canvas. A big milestone in our artistic growth!

b) Kids Class with Aakash, Aditya & Nithya

This musical-themed class was pure joy! We painted pianos and guitars while dancing to favorite tunes. The kids blended colors with confidence and flair. It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come since their first class.

🌿 Sunday: Nature & Confidence with Hema

In our trial adult class, Hema started a nature painting and quickly mastered blending. We brainstormed pole patterns together, and she chose, practiced, and painted her favorite design—all by herself! Though she says she’s not good at drawing, her work says otherwise. Can’t wait to continue next week!

🧘‍♀️ My First Oil Painting: A Rainy Day with Buddha

This week, I finally sat down to create my own oil painting—a serene Buddha. With the gentle sound of the studio’s waterfall and soft music in the background, I painted all day as the rain fell outside in Sunnyvale. It was peaceful, grounding, and deeply fulfilling. A reminder of why I started this journey.
